Opal Telecom logo November 2002: The Carphone Warehouse acquired Opal Telecom giving TalkTalk the strength and flexibility of its own landline network.
Pounds April 2004: TalkTalk introduced unlimited free calls between all of its customers; creating a massive organically grown free calls community.
TalkTalk in Europe Map 2004 onwards: TalkTalk expanded its service across Europe. It now also operates in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain Switzerland and The Netherlands.
Sept 2005 - TalkTalk Logo September 2005: TalkTalk launches line rental guaranteed to always be cheaper than BT.
Free Broadband April 2006: TalkTalk launches free broadband.
750,000 People December 2006: 3/4 million people have now ordered free broadband from TalkTalk. We are the fastest growing broadband business in the UK!
One Million People October 2007: TalkTalk continues to grow and announces their one-millionth customer!
Opal February 2009: Opal Office broadband launched providing business-grade prioritised broadband up to 24Mb.
Uswitch

April 2009: Named 'most improved' broadband provider in the 'uSwitch.com 2009 Broadband customer satisfaction survey and 'Best value for money' in the uSwitch.com Home Phone customer satisfaction report 2009.

Tiscali

July 2009: The acquisition of Tiscali UK makes TalkTalk Group the biggest provider of broadband to British homes.

February 2003: The Carphone Warehouse launched its residential landline service, TalkTalk guaranteeing to be cheaper than BT. Feb 2003 - TalkTalk logo
November 2004: TalkTalk Broadband launched, offering customers great value package of unlimited broadband and free home phone calls for £17.99 per month. TalkTalk Broadband
July 2005: TalkTalk introduces its first international free calls: with customers in the UK and Ireland talking to each other for free. TalkTalk Telephone
December 2005: TalkTalk acquires Onetel and Tele2, taking total customer numbers up to 2.5 million. These customers all talk to each other for free. OneTel and Tele2
October 2006: Carphone Warehouse complete the acquisition of the UK customer base of AOL's Internet access business from Time Warner Inc. The completion of the AOL deal makes us the clear number three player in the UK broadband market with 2.2 million residential broadband customers. July 2007: TalkTalk and Citizens Online launch £60,000 Community Awards. Charities and communtiy groups from across the UK are being invited to apply for money for technology products and services through TalkTalk's new Innovation in the Community Awards scheme. November 2008: Becomes the first to move away from the 'one size fits all' packages. myTalkTalk enables customers to tailor a package that suits them with a 8Mb broadband service along with a great value phone bundle. Boosts can be added to allow customers to upgrade their internet security, speed and download limits as well as access great phone deals such as ½ price mobile calls, anytime calls and calling features. March 2009: TalkTalk becomes Britain's fastest growing home phone and broadband specialist. The company's unbundling programme is on schedule with 78% of its base fully unbundled.

June 2009: CPW plc announces its demerger timetable and moves its listing on the London Stock Exchange from Retail to Telecoms to reflect the weight of earnings in the business
